Passage James 5:16 - CONFESS YOUR FAULTS ONE TO ANOTHER, AND PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER, THAT YE MAY BE HEALED, THE EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILTH MUCH.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This year was sadly, a season of bloodshed in our five boroughs. Our children are killing each other in front of our doors, yet we have not taken notice nor have we heard the anguish of a mother and father’s wailing at the lost of another child.

No longer can we pretend that these killings are not affecting our entire community. So we beseech you to join us in prayer for our children, our community, and an end to violence. Gun violence is not acceptable. This is an emergency of the highest level, and for this reason action is being taken.

10 Minutes That Changed My Life

Colin Goddard, who survived being shot four times during the Virginia Massacre in 2007, has released an e-book inviting all Americans to host debate night watch parties during the first Presidential debate in Denver, CO, October 3. Colin will formally release the book, “10 Minutes That Changed My Life” during a speech tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 25) at 7 pm at the University of Colorado in Boulder, which was recently forced to allow handguns on campus.

Colin’s e-book includes never before published details of his journey from child of international development workers growing up in supposedly “dangerous” under-developed nations around the world to his shocking experience of being shot in a supposedly “safe” place in the United States.

What’s the one question about gun violence that you would ask President Obama and Governor Romney at 2012′s first presidential debate? The October 3rd debate will be held in Denver, Colorado, within 10 miles of two of the most deadly mass shootings in U.S. history: Columbine High School and the Aurora movie theater.?? We think a question about gun violence must be asked. But which question? Colin Goddard recently took to the streets to find out.

Like my husband, Jim Brady, Colin Goddard wouldn’t sit down when life tried to force him to. He stood up to the challenge of his injury, and is now standing tall for all victims of gun violence. Jim and I are very grateful to him for joining the fight for sensible gun laws. Our dear friend Maria Cuomo Cole, and director Kevin Breslin, have captured his story magnificently in Living for 32.

I am in awe of Colin Goddard. The first time I heard him talk about his story as a survivor of the Virginia Tech shooting, I knew he would be around for a while and that he would be a force in the movement to prevent gun injuries and deaths. He has surpassed that expectation. And Living for 32 tells his remarkable story in a beautiful, uplifting way.
